Easy Breezy Santa Barbara Beach
Ok, I’m not really a huge fan of California beaches — BUT Santa Claus Ln in Santa Barbara has made me come around.
The Fabulous…
- Santa Claus Ln is a long stretch of flat, soft sand
- Super easy, shallow, calm water!!!
- Free street parking
- Short and straight walk from parking to beach (you can see the beach from the street… 30 feet?
- We found incredible shells in their full glory…not cracked
- Very kid friendly
- We brought our dog
- Portable toilet available (not very clean)
- The water was very shallow at least 7 feet out so it was also warmer than other California beaches
The Not So Fabulous…
- You must cross a railroad track to get to beach 🙁 …… ok, never in my life would I have thought I would do this with my children BUT we discussed it, we could see for a good long stretch both ways and I thougjt it might be a good teaching moment for when to and not to do something that could be dangerous. I also want to say, I’m a nervous Nelly so everyone else around us was fine…looked both ways and went on their way. It was easy, Cleary visible for a long stretch in both directions and it is one track only. However, I thought it was important to mention
- I did not see a lifeguard tower on this beach
