June Mountain has EVERYTHING but the crowds

June Mountain Adventure

The Fabulous…

  • Kids ski for FREE
  • Most people go to Mammoth and dont know about June Mountain– so no crowds (for now)
  • Everyone is SO nice

The Not So Fabulous…

  • If you dont like heights, brace yourself for the first lift– it’s straight up on a 2 seater (I can be a nervous nelly.. and I was fine after the first time)

The Details…

We packed up the boys and the dog and headed out for a June Mountain Adventure.

June Mountain is 5 hours from LA, about 15 minutes from Mammoth and has TONS of snow this year.. (50 feet this season!)  And the best part was that everyone who works at June Mountain was nice … I mean…EVERY SINGLE PERSON was nice… super nice— kids ski for FREE —and because it’s a fabulous hidden gem, hardly anyone was there.  Which by the way, I am very torn about because part of me wants to share this because it’s amazing and the other part wants to keep it a secret so I can continue to go down hills without crashing into anyone.

We rented a house across the street from the mountain because five additional family members came out for the trip as well.  The house was beautiful, but if you dont need such a big place, there were also cabins across the street with a great restaurant, a spa and a fun “miner” themed indoor pool and hot tub.  You can visit for $10. even if you’re not a guest.  Double Eagle Resort and Spa.  You can make your own fun as well!
