Welcome To Point Reyes California

Wow, so Point Reyes is the Western most point of Marin County and you can really feel it when you’re at the edge looking out over the Pacific.   The winds are strong, the view is gorgeous and there is much to see and touch in the visitors center.  They are closed Tuesday,  Wednesday and Thursday.

The Fabulous…

  • You feel like you’re at the edge of the earth (in an exhilarating way)
  • Seeing the lighthouse is really special and the trek down to it is worth every step
  • The visitor center is filled with interesting facts to learn and many things for kids to touch. We learned so much!
  • The walk from parking to visitor center is stunning.  Huge, gorgeous trees have grown leaning away from the ocean because of the winds… you do not actually feel the winds really until you get to the very end look out area
  • We passed the Strauss Organic Dairy Farm on the pretty road to the lighthouse. Those cows really have the most beautiful spot around!

The Not So Fabulous…

  • If it is too windy, they close access to the lighthouse for your safety (still worth the visit!
